June 2012 – Stent Change Weds

I’ve had better days…

Just a little FYI – we have confirmation for Lil’Sophie’s stent change surgery for Wednesday.  We will be arriving at St Louis Children’s Hospital at 11:00am.  So surgery will probably be 1ish.

We’re glad we decided to bump the surgery date up as she has been showing increased bile leakage and pain in the last 24hrs.  Her flesh around the site has become raised and red and looks really raw – it’s no wonder she hurts. Since we’re going into this with her already hurting, we’re concerned about her pain during recovery. So please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we go through this ‘routine’ procedure.  The last time she came out of anesthesia a wild child, screaming and thrashing around refusing to be calmed by anyone including us. Her O2 levels were all over the place which almost kept us overnight. So pain management will be crucial to her successful recovery.
